Meet Gary Giallonardo
Managing Director & Founder
The Short List, LLC
As a 20+ year professional strategist, business developer, Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR), and trusted advisor to presidents, CEOs, and investors, Gary built a “fixer” reputation by regularly finding and matching the most obscure resources to solve the most vexing problems hindering profitable revenue growth. An engineer and professional researcher with insatiable curiosity and connections, he uses Boolean operators and other advanced search techniques to get what's needed throughout the surface and deep webs. Outside of the box thinker and bold communicator is an understatement!
His extensive background focusing on needs of small-to-medium-sized manufacturers, distributors, and other B2B (business-to-business) service providers gave Gary a deep appreciation for having “the right seats on the bus” and “the right people in those seats” to drive optimal corporate performance. But it hasn’t always been easy for small-to-medium sized firms finding that hard-to-find local talent.
Hence, The Short List, LLC. Gary created The Short List, LLC as a natural extension of his problem-solving persona to address critical personnel needs efficiently and cost-effectively at smaller firms. Gary and his Talent Acquisition Associates always start by listening to situations and needs, then focuses attention on organizational / team mapping and succession planning, and finally employs unmatched research and vetting to find “needles-in-haystack” passive candidates not necessarily looking.
Prior to The Short List, LLC, Gary lived and traveled the world, managing sales and marketing organizations for B2B manufacturers such as Hewlett-Packard, PPG Industries, Avery Dennison, and Lilly Industries (Sherwin-Williams), along with a variety of smaller manufacturers. Gary was a finalist for the Ernst & Young 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. His business development advisory, Industrial Visions Company, LLC, was a finalist for the Marketing and Sales Executive of Detroit, 2004 Platinum Award. Four of Gary’s clients won the Michigan Manufactures Association’s prestigious John G. Thodis Michigan Manufacturer of the Year Award. He holds a BSE from Princeton University and an MBA in Marketing & Finance from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
